Looks like I missed out on all the fun here with computer questions.
In my opinion I think the AMD processors are the best. they run a little hotter than the intel but side by side, I think they out do intel.
Zman I am supprized that you are using a SATA3 HD. I thought you would have a RAID HD. I have 1 RAID and a 1 SATA for a backup in my computer. I notice a differance when accessing them both. the two HD's are great incase I get hit with a virus. I have ghosted everything to my second hard drive for a backup. If something happens to my first one I will beable to still use my computer because of the second drive.
good luck with your new computer aquaria..

Ron,
I'm confused by your previous post. RAID and SATA are totally different things. SATA is a indeed a high throughput hard drive interface, but RAID stands for Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks. Essentally RAID is not a hard drive but a configuration used to provide redundancy for replicating data data. Are you referring to SCSI?

My motherboard only came with Software Raid support. I didn't want to buy another internal drive. Raid 0 has no redundancy just speedup through striping the two drives and Raid 1 mirrored drive - Recovery is not necessarily auto-magic. That why I went for the USB backup drive option, portable take with you...
Raid 5 not even sure if that's a option without hardware support and at least three drives. Anyway, I have only seen it implemented with hardware on SCSI drives on our platforms.

After I had posted I realized what I said. I have been on some pretty strong meds for my back and was confused about the terminology. You are right. it is scsi. maybe I was thinking about how the

are "raiding" my head vs a computer hard drive. sorry for the mis information. I'll keep my mouth shut.
Anyway I am feeling better. and I did stay in a comfort inn hotel lastnight.

Thanks for the correction.. Ron

That's hilarious
I hope your back gets feeling better, Ron. I apologize if my post came off arrogant at all. I figured you meant SCSI. By no means keep your mouth shut though. You obviously know your stuff!
