Last question I'm asking- don't get many responses if any

Is there any bulb I can buy that will allow me to have an anemone with standard hood that comes on all aquariums? I've got 55 gallon with 2 hoods that use 2 18 inch long and 1 inch in diameter fluorescent bulbs. If so please be very specific so I'll know exactly how to order them. Thanks!

you can not keep anemone with stock hoods. I keep telling you you need to get metal halide lights or T5s maybe... you can not keep any coral with a stock hood on that 55 gallon tank... i have the same one as you and had to upgrade. and if u ask diff questions you'll get more answer you always ask the same question

I ask the same questions- it's because I don't know if you're for real anymore than the LFS but at least they're nice. You need to learn to respect your elders!

Yes you can but you will have very low light with the typ hood
so you will have to pick low light invertebrates and there are many
just get the brightest bulbs

There are no bulbs you can get for a standard hood (single bulb, normal output fluorescent) that is suitable for keeping an anemone.
They are some of the most difficult animals to keep, and need mature tanks with relatively specialized equipment.

In response to the title of your question, there is only one thread that you started that has not been answered yet. Give it time. All of us range in experience and knowledge. Maybe someone is taking time out of their day doing the research for you to answer your question.
We are all learning and patience is a virtue-esp. in salt tanks. Just relax. I am sure plenty of people want to help in answering your questions.

Please take your own advice and respect everyone on this board. The behavior and language is not tolerated here.
Typically when questions are not answered, it is due to the question being asked - might be a common question that people think you can search for, or it may be a question they don't quite understand.

You need at least T-5 fixture or a MH fixture. They are not cheap but if you want the anemones they need the light. They have organisims in them that use the light to feed the anemones on top of what you give them. At the LFS most anemones are white and this is because they have lost all there zooanthmes(sp? forget how to spell it) If people on this board have told you this they are right, most LFS are out to make a buck. I can prove this because I have bought a few things through them but found out later that they have a poor survival rate in the home aquarium because I did not research. Try to do your research on this board and please watch your language there are kids as young as 10 on here. Also it is a good idea for 4watts per gallon so you need 220 watts for your tank. Hope this helpd out.

yeah, the ppl on here are a much better sorce for info than your lfs. one of my previous lfs's tried to sell me a yellow tang for my nano
anyway, the lfs will tell you just about anything. listen to people on here and make an informed decision from there.
for anyone curious, the yellow tang only spent 30hrs in my tank, and back to the lfs he went (i dont go there anymore)
