Their insurance might pay u for it but ive never tried to deal with them after a lost.
And they could still make it after 3 days in a box

I'm pretty sure I will get my money back for shipping, but they won't cover perishable goods.
I skipped out of work yesterday for the delivery, now I have to fake a cough if they show up. Stinking Post Office.

just call the vendor. most good places will work with you atleast somehow.
E*** Au*****, And this particular person says she will not honor shipments made by USPS. Even though she offers it, and only when it is Next Day Delivery through Express. But the real problem here is USPS, not her. She had them to the Post Office in time.

When, or if they show up, I will certainly let everyone know. Thanks for the optimism.

If they look really bad when they arrive, either frag the heck out of them and/or give them 2 dips... Flatworm Exit and Lugol's. I had a frag that was closed up for almost a week and I gave it an extra dose of dips and now they have opened up and look happy.

Why would you want to freshwater dip a coral? Seems to me that it would be a sure way to kill it, but I am kind of new so not sure... If it is to make sure bad hitchhikers come off...I thought that was what a iodine dip is for.
I only temp acclimate for 15 minutes then into an iodine dip for 10 minutes and into my tank. I have done this with all of the corals I have received and all are thriving so far. (all 8 of them).
SOME (but not all) Corals will benefit from a FW dip with no harm. I think most folks would agree that Zoa's SHOULD be Freshwater dipped and . Like said Zoa's are tough. But there can be Nudi's, Pox and the such........ The Freshwater soak-rinse helps rid them of many unwanted parasites. Many of the treatments for Zoa's use freshwater. I have always done at least a 10 min. FW soak on all Zoa's.......... I add Furan-2 to the dip if I suspect any fungal infections are present.
After the FW dip I moved them to a 50% SW-50% FW solution for 5 additional minutes then to all Saltwater with matching temperature and PH before introduction......

I know when I ship, I dont guarantee through USPS, no matter the method. I do not trust them, so many horror stories.

The zoas will be fine. If I were you, I'd just drop them right in. If you got the corals from the LFS , then you can drip acclimate them, but its not necessary.

It all checked out, she didn't make any mistakes. I did, first, then the Post Office. Chalk up another USPS

up.
They arrived at 11 this morning, they got temperature acclimated, dipped and set in the tank. So far closed up, but I don't think they look dead, just closed. Any characteristics to look for to determine live or dead? During the dip a few creatures popped out. They lived, at least until that moment.

Glad you received them. I normally keep zoa's as long as they finally melt away, that's how I know they are dead. I've brought to life some really pathetic frags, so I know it can be done.
