Toadstool (or umbrella) leather. I had to buy this once I saw it at the LFS. It's huge, about 9" in diameter and very healthy. It was on a nice piece of LR and there were a few freebies w/ the LR (a few pieces of mushrooms, a nice size star polyp, and a mexican turbo snail). Paid $80 for the whole thing.
Pics don't do justice here :D

WOW Euphoria!! That thing is awesome!! Have you got a clown that may potentially take to it?? That'd be neat. We need full tank shots to really appreciate it's size!! But nice coral! :cheer:
:D

I do have a clown, but it's alread hosting a bubble coral, and so far hasn't even paid attention to this leather.

OMG that's a nice set up. That toad really takes the stage huh? Not to many soft tanks I really like but yours makes me wanna buy another tank! :)

Outstanding!
THe toadstool really looks like it belongs there.
Very nice tank!! (I want one. My buddy has one near that size but he won't frag it for me!! I guess i can't blame him. They are beautifull.)

Thanks :)
Well I'm gonna go w/ a SPS setup this summer and put all these softies at the lower level part of the SPS tank, and hopefully they'll continue to stay healthy like they are now.
My only worry is the transition of the corals from this tank to a new tank and their acclimation.

we have a huge long polyps toadstool like that that we are about to frag. its starting to shadow to many things in the tank, It's about 8-10 inches around and has dropped two babys already. I love the ones with longer polyps like that. great tank
here is a pic of ours with a close up on the toadstool.

what do u mean when you say it has dropped 2 babies. And how do you frag a toadstool? Do you cut it in half or what?

well when we first got this one it has two little toadstools sticking off of its main stalk. oevr time they moved farther down the stalk and onto the surrounding rock.
to frag a toadstool is very easy. in my case one time i moved this one and it was stuck to a piece of live rock that i did not see, when i puled it away it kinda riped a piece of the flesh off. in that spot there is a new toadstool growing. of course thats not the way you should do it but i think that shows how easy it is and how hardy they are

Once it get's big enough, you will wake up one morning and see a baby coral growing up from the rock or substrate under or around the big one. My capnella did it... I was looking in the tank and I saw a tiny little "stick" coming out of the gravel...then I looked and saw another then another... They just "drop babies" LOL...

I always liked toadstools, that was the first coral I bought. I have a saddleback that calls it home.

Hey Tizzo, my Toadstool has a baby also about the size of a nickel. Do you have to frag this? Or as you stated, :notsure: they drop their babies and you don't have to do anything at all to it.
