latteral line

I got a purple tang for free from a lfs because he has latteral line. I know it's curable and a $77 dollar fish for free is ok for me. Does anyone know how to cure this. i am giving him a veriety of foods and garlic. what else can I do.

Not an expert, but I am proud of my big, fat yellow and blue tangs. I use nori or the green prepared seaweed found at your lfs. I use some arlic and a vitamin supliment. Some fo the magazines have advetisments for other cures, cannot remember them.

I believe it is a vitamin supplement that helps (as oscardeuce mentioned) like zoe, zoecon or selcon. 1 is better, but I am not sure. Wait for others response, not for certain if that is preventative only, or preventative and/or a cure. I was just going to ask this question to clarify it for myself. Always nice to get a free fish that is savable--nice save! Bump for you.

You didn't even know you helped me, but you did. My yellow is far from fat, but healthy. I cant find nori, but have brown and red seaweed from the LFS that it could care less about---better see if they have the green in the a.m. i would love to see it have something to graze on, eats like a pig but that isn't enough in my eyes. What is arlic?

i cured lateral line erosion on my achilles tang by using Zoe, Selcon, and Kent Marine C (vitamin C) added to their food. I also swithced from roasted nori to Julian Sprungs Sea veggies. In less than 2 weeks it was completely gone and never returned.
i also swithced from using tap water to ro/di the same time.
