Maybe by adding him and maxing out your bioload even more, your levels spiked and didn't affect your other fish because there used to the poor conditions but the poor blenny was not..

Unfortunately, I had the same thing happen to me. My LR was covered in algae, so I went a bought a Lawnmower...he was great! Very fun to watch swim and eat, almost showing a true personality. However, after a week, my LR was clean and he (I think) starved. Next time I get one, which will be after I go to MH lighting for Reef/consistent algae growth, I will supplement his diet with some algae tabs or strips.

I had a Lawnmower Blenny that would really eat the short hair algae, but my Bi Color Blenny killed him. Just wouldn't leave him alone.

Well I got one probably a month or so ago and he hasn't even put a dent in my hair algae. He is getting so fat though. I've seen him eating some of the macro i have in there to help out with nutrient export so maybe if anyone else has one and you are afraid he may not make it because he has eaten all the hair algae try some macro algae.
