I am not sure I would be trusting this LFS anymore. I would definitely upgrade to a larger pump. The flow in those tanks is not good at all.

You definitely need something to check the SG. Another mistake by LFS. Also, no fish or clean-up crew should have been added to the tank. It probably is not even finished cycling yet.

You should have a test kit to test ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH, and kH, as well as either a hydrometer or refractometer.
A hydrometer is cheaper, but MUCH more inaccurate. A refractometer is more expensive but always accurate. You can get a hydrometer for $10 and a refractometer for $50.
