leaching storage containers?

I am battling silicates in my tank.
I am getting 0ppm water out of my RO/DI unit, and storing it in 2 Rubbermaid storage containers. 2 days ago the water in the storage container measured 0ppm tds and yesterday it measured 200+ ppm and tested positive for silicates.
Give me ideas !!! Leaching from the containers? Outside contamination? Pretty sure its not a one time thing since I have been battling brown diatom for 2 months now, but this is the first time I measured the water after it sat for 2 days.
What does everyone else use for storage?

The thought that your 'Rubbermaid" containers were treated with an algaecide (sp) and may be leaching the silicates is very possible. Mother-in-Law runs a Nursery/Greenhouse and found the same problem with some containers for her flowers and such. Just a thought.
