hello!
im glad you got a 12g nano!
i added you as a friend so go accept!

anyway this is what you need to do:
add the tank with water RO water. just fresh if you want doesnt matter.
then turn on the pump. and if its leaking look for it and try to stop it with something see if its there. if nothing then you are good to go with Live sand and LR etc...

That doesnt make any sense to me. Its leaking because its not turned on? Perhaps someone else could explain why that would happen.

So they do leak if they are not turned on, the filter i mean? I dunno, my mom said it could be leaking cause the filter is not turned on.. im not sure if she knows what she is talking about or not lol. So i thought i would see if anyone else had this problem .. Cause i filled my tank with the salt and water and sand and live rock and yada yada, then i let it sit, next thing i know i have water coming from either the back of the tank somewhere or the bottem seam..

ok if that happened maybe the back is leaking. take out the water and add some water in the back. if you see it then its leaking and get a new one.

To my understanding there shouldnt be any reason why the tank would leak because the filter isnt turned on unless your talking about it overflowing. Just to be clear this is a 12 gallon nano cube? I have a 24g and turn off my filter all the time and it doesnt leak. No matter how you look at it it should still be a tank that holds water with a filter chamber in the back. Therefore no water should be leaking anywhere.

Yep filter chamber is in the back.. I new it. I got a 12g for Christmas from my mom. When we got it home and i got it set up there was a crack in the corner that spread all the way across, i took it back and they guy ( i used to work for, not leaving on good terms either) was hesitant on replacing it, the only one he had left was his display which is the one i have now that is now leaking. i have a feeling this is not going to end well...

that could work. get seal it from aquariums something:
hold on...here we go!

BUT BUT BUT!!!! dont do it! the pressure of the water could make it worse over time! so dont. go replace it do you got receipt.

So you replaced a cracked one for their display tank? Was the display running when you bought it or just sitting out?
If they had it going... took it down for you .... brought it home and it was leaking... I don't really think they'll give you another one.. seems as if the only cause for the leak would be your fault..
BUT if it wasn't running at the store then def. take it back!

Unfortunately i do not have a receipt.. The guy never gave my mom one when she bought it. They are bad about not giving receipts. My husband, i think is going to try and take care of it tomorrow and call the guy. Seeing how they dont have anymore of the 12g tanks im not sure how its going to work.. Of course they do have a 25g tank..
lol.. But im sure they wont go for swapping a 12g for a 25g .. I will let ya guys know what happens tomorrow.

No it was not filled or running or anything, it was just sitting on a stand, for display. We got it home and filled it and ya, it started leaking
