Least Favorite Fish

Hey All
Well, we all have done it... We have bought a fish that really didn't suite us... Personally, I have had good experiences in this hobby for the most part. There is however, one little exception.
I recently purchased a beautiful Bi-Color Angelfish from my LFS for my office display tank. While it was striking at my LFS, upon entering it into my Office Tank, I noticed that this fish certinly likes to hide... Actually, apart from feeding time once per day, I never see the friggin thing! It is like having no fish at all! At first I thought it was just the initial acclimation process, but 4 weeks later I now realize, my Bi-Color angel is happy just to hide from the world for 23.9 hours per day! While it is a beautiful fish, I only see it for 5 minutes a day!
Anyone have any similar experiences? If so, what type of fish was it?
Thought this would be interesting...

Hi,
I have a Fridmani dottyback, he is so beautiful but he lives in the rocks and caves, I seldom see him. However he is adored and I feel really happy when I get a glimpse of him...LOL.. About once each day at feeding time.
I have not gotten any fish and be able to say I hate it. I have always been very picky on what goes into my tank. I love them all. I would not purchase any damsel, they are beautiful but way too mean for my liking. So I suppose that is my least favorite fish.

I agree on the Damsels 100%. I have Damsels in my Office Tank and they are the Devil. While they are very beautiful, they are not worth the stress to the other fish...

I think that fish that hide only make them that much more fascinating when you finally get that couple second/minute view of them.
The fish I don't tend to like are... none :( I love all animals.

My father once had a scissortail dartfish that jumped out of the water and onto the floor several times, and always survived, but after the third or fourth time, decided to hide. We thought for sure he was dead, but he showed himself after about a month. After that, we'd see him for about thirty seconds every two months. Eventually, though, he dissappeared for good.

I dont hate my trigger by any means but its just kinda sad to not see him swimming because Niger Triggers are beautiful fish, well IMO. Its just odd to see a tirgger be shy and just get a Blue Hippo Tang and its greeting you lol.

I don't hate him, or even really dislike him, but my least favorite fish in my tank is my one-spot foxface. Strange, because it's a fish I always thought was attractive and had on my original stocklist, and although he IS attractive, he just seems to be the only fish I have that is just THERE, with no really interesting habits or personality quirks, he is neither especially shy or bold, when I'm near my tank he doesn't rush to the front anticipating food like the others, he does not interact with the other fish particularly, in short.....he's boring. He eats, he swims, he's attractive, but nothing about him really interests me. (Gee, I've known some men like that! LOL!)

Hee hee hee. The way you told this story makes me imagine the dartfish leaping out of the tank and hiding under the couch. And then, every so often, when you walk into the living room, you get a glimpse of him before he makes a mad dash from the top of the coffee table to back under the sofa.

I sell any fish that hides all day. No sense in going through all this trouble to care for fish that I can't see.
So I don't really have a least favorite fish, because I usually end up selling it. I like all my current fish!

He's actually at work right now and I'm home.
But he has a laptop on the sofa and I'm on the PC in a cabinet in the livingroom. So at night we actually are side by side typing. We type and chat, watch TV and work on our website... and tend to the tanks together. There's our life. LOL

I have a. love hate relationship with a perc clown. Everything I put in the tank dies within a few weeks. Yes it is the clown that does it. I have since given up on putting anything in there with the clown. It is the most beautiful clown I have ever seen but sometimes I wish.......!

Are these Damsels in the same tank as the Bicolor angel...if so that might be the problem right there..

Actually, I have decided that I the Bi-Color Angel really isn't worth the bio-load in my little 54 Gallon... As such, instead of being transferred to my 54 Gallon in a few weeks, he is off to a friends 200 Gallon Reef Tank tomorrow... I have 3 tanks, but they all have limited room, so no wasting time on fish that hide all day!
