LED lighting, looking for more information all would be appreciated

hey guys im starting a 40 gallon bow front tank and ive been looking into more information on LEDs on my 20 gal i currently am running a fluval sea full spectrum light thats 25000k 25w system, i was thinking on transferring those lights to the 40gal but idk alot about LEDs and would like to know more, but there is so much information out there and it seems to contradict itself depending on where you look. i was thinking on buying another ballast from the same company thats 36w, would this work for corals, or should i look into diy leds ?

hey guys ive been researching lighting and was wondering if these would work well on the 40 bowfront any suggestions? Orbit Marine LED Strip Light - 36 in. to 48 in. 36watt, as far as ive researched the rule of thumb is supposed to be 4.5-5 watts per gallon, but i have yet to see an led system with 200watts, any ideas or tips? i really dont want to buy crap lighting

I have no experience with LED lighting I know there are several different kinds though. Have you searched for reviews online for that unit to see what other people have said? I know when LEDs starting coming out there were alot of people that were going to experiment and see how corals reacted but I have been away for some time now and have not seen the results of anybody's trials.
Sorry I really could not help ya.

hey guys sorry for such a late reply been working mad crazy lately lol, but in reply to you michael i have done a alot of reviews research, and to be honest its alot to take in... my biggest concern is the wattage, i really want to start corals with my 40gal bowfront (whenever i get off my lazy butt and start shopping lol) but all my books and research say that 4-5watts per gallon for a reef tank 24in deep, and there isnt anything about LEDs in the books my concern is if they are actually as bright as they say

and for anyone wondering where im getting most of my information from its these three books ive gotten most of my info from: The 101 Best: Marine Inverts, The 101 Best: Saltwater fishes, Saltwater Aquariums for Dummies( dont knock the name lol)

Wattage doesn't really apply to lighting and especially LEDS...I'd suggest you really search out valuable lighting reviews and read real results. Fluval definitely isn't even in the top 20 IMHO....
