LED Lighting???

Does anyone have any experience with LED lighting systems? I have been looking at upgrading the lighting on my 70g tank and saw an LED lighting system. I'm a DIY person and have built my own lighting systems. But I don't have much experience with LED's. I can access LED lights, power, controls and such, but are they good enough for a reef aquarium? Are the LED's in the commercially available system special?? Any info would be helpful.

I think they are pretty good. Will be better in a few years but definitely pretty now. They do use more high tech/ High out put ones. Such as lumileds.

LEDs are not where they could be for aquarium lighting. Until they are (probably a few more years) I'd stick to T5ho or halides.

Thanks for your help. After posting the questions I thought of doing a search on the subject and what do I find, pretty much the same responses you've given me. I'll stick the "known" tech for now and let the lighting companies do the engineering for now.
