You already have your answers in the new aquarists section. Not a good idea to repost the same question in different areas. Somebody will tell you what you want to hear even if it is completely wrong. You could always go to the local fish store and if he sells lees I am sure it will be the best ever.

Well, this is an airstone driven skimmer, so you have $40 for the skimmer, and at least another $20 for a decent airpump.

look on the big a-u-c-t-i-o-n website on the net. There are plenty available on there for the same or even cheaper

Actually, what you need to know is an HONEST assessment of the money you have to put into this hobby, and STAY within your means. If you can't afford a good piece of equipment, then put off keeping, for example, corals. You may also need a lighting upgrade to keep corals, you need test kits, and you need to be able to do frequent and regular water changes. If you can't afford to do this, then figure out a game plan and what you can keep, and do that WELL.

While the Lee counter current skimmers may be old hat to most folks anymore I started off my hobby interests with Lee skimmers and they do work and work well provided you have a decent air pump and keep a clean limewood air diffuser inthe skimmer. I had better luck and results with the Lee CC Skimmers and more consistency than I ever did with a seaclone. The best all around cheap skimmer I have ever used or had is made my Sanders......they just plain work and work great. Also air driven but dirt cheap.
