With my 5 gallon on jug. I figured out what 4 gallons of water was. I fill 4 not 5 gallons because the salt raises the water level. Then I fill up the 5 gallon jug in the SINK. I have done the same thing.

Whoa, bummer dude.
I would be hitting the stand hard with a towel and follow up with a hair dryer. You don't want that sucker to rot and collapse.
= BAD
Good luck.

Blame the dog. Are you saying you left the RO/DI dripping directly into your tank or am I misunderstanding.

i had this happen. use fans and keep them running, it dryed up the carpet for me. i think the salt water makes it so no mold can grow.

yea rodi dripping.. im not sure how much actually spilled.. but it only can go out the back of the stand..... and the front carpet is like wet.... so it has to be UNDER the stand.... um... its only like 2"s wet all the way around the stand... so its not HELLA bad but.. couple few gallons im guessin... im using towels... i tried a hair dryer and plugged it in with all my tank and comp on... i killed all the circuits to my house i had to go outside and flip em all on.. LOL so im just using a towel... all 12 are in the dryer now drying on high heat.. ill keep doing it...
I put water in.... salt is now at like 1.023-1.024 so its not bad. i can lift it back to 1.025 by tomarrow easily.. umm i tested water.....
PH is 8.1-8.2
Ammonia is 0
Nitrite is like 2 or 3
nitrate is like 25
nitrite was 0 before this.. i dont really kno what it actually means.. but nitrate is 25 im getting chaeto on saturday so that will help... my tank has nothing in it it was just cycled for the past 5 weeks so yea... hehe
but i mean....i cant believe i did that.. thats the last time i will try to fill tank up when i get ready for work in the morning.... second time i forgot to turn it off before leaving.. i had pops come home from work to turn it off. this time its i blew it ahaha.
i was just about to get some cleanup crew from this site because im starting to get brown algae right after my cycle... fuge which doesnt have powerhead is getting really brown. so i was gonna get the 100+ reef package and throw some in there and most in the big tank....... but im turning off all lights for this week and working on getting salt and nitrite to 0. and nitrate as close as i can and plus chaeto with pods and mysid is comming saturday.
go ahead guys... call me an idoit.. it was a idoit mistake ahaha.. get ur laughs out now heh
i guess its a HAPPY Halloween for me huh?
expecially when pops is on his flight home from vegas..
(i had to push him for 2 years to get a new tank but he said no cause he redid my whole room and carpet and he didnt want it to get wet. and i promised it wouldnt.. well not a little big.. prolly like 5 gallons ahahaahha

dude i know people are gonna flip to this but i have you beat.
In the local ***** i used to work at on MORE THAN ONE OCCASION( nah lets be more precise. how about 5 times) someone left the water on to fill the sump over night. When i opened the store the next morning i see more than 2000$ worth of fish dead in the tanks and the temp was 40 deg with 1.008 salt. only survived was a couple damsels and clownfish and a flame angel maybe. That was only one occasion. The sump has is maybe 5-6 feet long 1.5 ft high and 18 inches deep. ~85 gallons. That sump filled in around 3-4 min if left on continuously. SO thats 20 gallons a min coming out and it was left on from 10 pm to 7am. 9 hours. 9*60*20 = 10800 gallons of water went through the sump and on the floor. dont feel too bad. And over the time i was the reptile specialist there about 18 months this happened about 5 times.
And the person who did it didnt even get written up.
Dont you just love *****?

Do yourself a favor and get a godd carpet cleaner in to clean the carpets......You need to have the water extracted from the carpets......A shop vac will help, but you won't get it all and will ruin the padding under the carpet and cause mold and such.....Trust me I've had an Oceanic 150 cut loose on me and everything was on the floor........It takes a professional good amount of time to work the salt and junk from the carpet.........
