I have a beautiful 14g reef with beautiful zoos, ricordeas, acans, a frogspawn coral with clear (not brown) tissue, a hammer coral, rasta leather frag, and a very small colt coral frag. For fish i have 2 clowns. I also have 3 peppermint shrimp and a skunk.
For my next purchase i am considering either a sun coral, or a Pistol Shrimp/Goby combo.
To my understanding, sun corals are semi-difficult to keep due to their need to be fed meaty foods. They have awesome color as well. But, i think the symbiotic relationship between the pistol shrimp and goby is stunning. I also know that having 3 fish in a 14g is on the fence for the bio-load. It is actually about 9 gallons of water due to LR and LS). I do weekly 12% water changes (1 gallon), and i understand that keeping a schedule like that means you can have a slightly larger bio-load.
My question to you guys is: which should i buy next, a reason not to get the other option, and a breif explanation on how to care for the choice you picked.

I'm tring to get a bullseye pistol right now!! I'm planning on pairing it with a Hi fin goby, also called a barbershop goby. Good thing I don't have a mirror in my tank, they might fight over it.

I do have one slight problem though... What i thought was an inch of sand is about 1/2"-3/4" of sand. How do i add another half inch to my sand bed with out taking out the rock or corals or fish?

you can use a pvc pipe and a funnel just add it slowly.
Keep in mind that the goby and shrimp will dig the sand under your rocks which could be bad. They will also mess up your tank and you'll have to deal with sand on your rocks and corals.

that would be easy, what early bird said.-OR- Wash it off and just dump it in the corner then spread it out with your hand.
Put sand in after your rock is your best bet if youre going to have diggers.

Yeah, i only had 1/8" of sand when i put in my rock, then i took out all the corals and fish a couple weeks later and added some more sand. Now i guess i will just do it with everything in the tank. thanks for the help.
