A buddy of mine was told to use lemon juice to kill apt. and he woke up with dead fish just morning. Lionfish, puffer, harq. tusk and trigger. What happen? The tank he says is cloudy also.

Did he carefully measure the amount and inject directly into the aptasia? It is also recommended to do only a few at a time. He must have used too much which raised his PH to a lethal level.

Well I also found out that he bought a new canister filter and took off the 2 HOB's that he had running for 4 years. But he had changed the slide in filters other times without any problems.

my wife accidently took a cup of milk that was next to the cup of fish food and poured it in a 40 gal hospital tank-- fish died immediately--

She poured in the milk or knocked it over?

Quite possibly he tanked the pH. Lemon juice is citric acid. Ph normally drops overnight as you have a build up of carbonic acid. Both together, especially if he doesn't keep an eye on his alkalinity, could really cause trouble.
Its possible that changing the filters caused an issue but since it happened so quickly and overnight, I would still favor the pH issue. Has he done a water test?
