I have a Blue Star Leopard Wrasse (Macropharyngodon bipartitus), not the regular one you're talking about (Macropharyngodon meleagris). From what people have said, they're very hard to keep. Luckily, mine has been eating like a pig from day one. I feed her frozen Mysid Shrimp and Blood Worms. I do believe she will also eat pods, since she does sleep in the sand.

Feeding is the most challenging part of keeping a leopard wrasse in general. Just make sure your potential specimen accepts sustitute food before buying it.
