Let Palin Debate Obama on Foreign Policy

Since McCain is still on the fence about showing up for the debate tonight (he still wants to grandstand at the Washington economic debate), How about letting Palin stand in for him? She did such a good job with foreign policy during the Katie Couric interview (please note the sacasm):
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/...n4479062.shtml
I can see why they've kept her from giving interviews "you know". "uh, yeah":
Couric: You've cited Alaska's proximity to Russia as part of your foreign policy experience. What did you mean by that?
Sarah Palin: That Alaska has a very narrow maritime border between a foreign country, Russia, and, on our other side, the land-boundary that we have with Canada. It's funny that a comment like that was kinda made to … I don't know, you know … reporters.
Couric: Mocked?
Palin: Yeah, mocked, I guess that's the word, yeah.
Couric: Well, explain to me why that enhances your foreign-policy credentials.
Palin: Well, it certainly does, because our, our next-door neighbors are foreign countries, there in the state that I am the executive of. And there…
Couric: Have you ever been involved in any negotiations, for example, with the Russians?
Palin: We have trade missions back and forth, we do. It's very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia. As Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border. It is from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there, they are right next to our state.
Yeeea, she'd knock Obama right out of the park..

And then she can go straight to the economic debate (especially the last comments):
Couric: Would you support a moratorium on foreclosures to help average Americans keep their homes?
Palin: That's something that John McCain and I have both been discussing - whether that ... is part of the solution or not. You know, it's going to be a multi-faceted solution that has to be found here.
Couric: So you haven't decided whether you'll support it or not?
Palin: I have not.
Couric: What are the pros and cons of it do you think?
Palin: Oh, well, some decisions that have been made poorly should not be rewarded, of course.
Couric: By consumers, you're saying?
Palin: Consumers - and those who were predator lenders also. That's, you know, that has to be considered also. But again, it's got to be a comprehensive, long-term solution found ... for this problem that America is facing today. As I say, we are getting into crisis mode here.
Couric: You've said, quote, "John McCain will reform the way Wall Street does business." Other than supporting stricter regulations of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac two years ago, can you give us any more example of his leading the charge for more oversight?
Palin: I think that the example that you just cited, with his warnings two years ago about Fannie and Freddie - that, that's paramount. That's more than a heck of a lot of other senators and representatives did for us.
Couric: But he's been in Congress for 26 years. He's been chairman of the powerful Commerce Committee. And he has almost always sided with less regulation, not more.
Palin: He's also known as the maverick though, taking shots from his own party, and certainly taking shots from the other party. Trying to get people to understand what he's been talking about - the need to reform government.
Couric: But can you give me any other concrete examples? Because I know you've said Barack Obama is a lot of talk and no action. Can you give me any other examples in his 26 years of John McCain truly taking a stand on this?
Palin: I can give you examples of things that John McCain has done, that has shown his foresight, his pragmatism, and his leadership abilities. And that is what America needs today.
Couric: I'm just going to ask you one more time - not to belabor the point. Specific examples in his 26 years of pushing for more regulation.
Palin: I'll try to find you some and I'll bring them to you.

I actually heard her say this line on TV, and she reminded me of that police woman in the movie Fargo, or someone from Min-ee-so-ta.

I'll take her over biden or obama any day of the week.
I bet he wished he had Romney now... But it is obvious his campaign is taking some hits now... and suspending the campaign w/ 40 days to go may have been a bad idea... People need to know where they stand because in a couple months we will have new leadership and that person will be directly in charge of handling this mess.
As far as Palin... we know very little about her and what her role will be... you all must admit that you've got to be a little disappointed in what has happened post-convention with her..

I thought it was Obama Vs. McCain. Why do some people insist on Obama Vs. Palin?

You mean attacked and vilified sure, I'm disappointed, not surprised typical democrat tactics. Drop 30 lawyers in Alaska looking for her closet of skeletons.
I like the choice, I think it was an excellent choice.
From a republican I only wish she didn't have to play McCain's populist card. I wish they'd let her be herself.

It's my understanding that much of the actual interview was cropped out and these were some of her better responses. Carribou Barbie is not an adequate VP and at best she is a presidental spokesmodel.
Anyone else think she's gonna dodge the debate with Biden?

you don't think Obama has been investigated? I mean what did you expect.. you drop someone's name in as VP that no one knows anything about... of course the media.. and campaign is going to research her .. her positions .. her family ... etc.. That is what the media does... and if that person is your opponent.. you'd better know their strenghts and weaknesses... All this is is game planning.

you all have got to admit... she is 0-2-1 in interviews
why do think she would fair better in a debate? I don't think that is her skill set.
I am looking forward to tonight's debate.

Thank you. It is the same thing I said when the first post came out about her. I don't have a problem with the lady or her kids but she doesn't know what she is doing. The ONLY reason she was picked was because she is a woman and now McCain can say that he isn't prejudiced against minorities like nonwhites and women. Because, look, I picked a woman for my running mate. OHHHH AHHHH
He ain't perfect, but Obama has been picked at like crazy. For example, citing that he is unfit to be president because some of his friends that he happens to have did bad things a long time ago. I have had friends that did horrible things. This forum is a great example of how he is picked apart. I don't hear hardly any McCain supporters admitting the fact that he is not perfect and that, most definitely, his disabilities will hinder his ability to run the country. I am sorry. I know that it sounds like it's being nitpicky, but not knowing how to use a computer could cause him some problems. You think the president doesn't get important emails? I don't know what all of his health problems are but if he dies I want someone who can spell out what they are going to do for this country now that they are running it, not UMmmm, and Errrrr, and I will find something for you later because, gee, I don't know because I have as much experience as any joe schmo that is a mayor of any podunk city, USA.

The key difference is he was never grilled about certain issues or circumstances as she has been. You can't tell me you don't see a difference. The only person to ask Obama tough questions was O'Reilly.
