The first week it took a little longer, but now only like 5 min. I feed in the morning so now they stay open all day and close up at night. I like feeding them like this. I know other people use a cup with holes and squirt the food in, but I wasn't sure if every polyp would get fed so I do it this way. Plus its cool to see them grab it. Its like eating out of your hands almost. I offer it to my clown too. He comes over and will nibble it a little.

Well... mine are sleeping now so I cant take a pic of them.. but Xenia will always be my favorite coral. They are so hypnotic and beautiful.

I like the pulsating Xenia. I had my eye on one when my tank was cycling and when I could finally start adding coral, it was gone.

shouldn't be to hard to find xinia so many people around here start flushing it cause it grows so fast. Mine don't grow becaus my fish eats it up.

thats a realy nice one. but jsut so you know, elegance corals do not have a low survival rate because of water conditions. they actualy have done very very well in poor water because of the extra nutrients that they seem to enjoy. they do poorly because since the mid-90s, a parasite, or disease, or something (i dont believe it is quite known what) has been killing them. This is why a captive grown one may do much better, but it is still not garentees.
