Lets see those Lionfish!

Heres the only pic I have mine. This is from the first show I put him in. I knew he would eventually start getting trophies so I wanted to get him used to shows early. Much to my surprise and delight, he got 3'rd place overall marine fish! That's a 10 gallon tank, so he's about 5" there (check out the height of those spines!). Show size for a Volitan is 12"+. Technically he should have been disqualified.
He got to be 15" long with an 18" fin span in about 3 years, then a 2" Huma brutally executed him with a single bite to the throat. He was in my freezer for a year because Castaway Kulis (famouse pro fisherman turned taxidermist) wanted to frezze dry mount him for a magazine shoot.

thanks! actually i got him like 2.5 years ago at a local lfs and it was only $20 i grabbed him up back then cuz he stood out i didnt realize that yellow was kinda a rare color for these lil guys
in this pic u can see how tiny he really is hes maybe 3-4" head to end of tail but such great personality

I'm talking about the yellow fuzzy dwarf lion's. If your talking about them to then im coming there to buy all the yellow fin lion's that pet store has, then selling them here. i know regular fuzzy's go for around 20

hows ur fuzzy do in your reef tank?? u lost any fish or anything ever?? they seem kinda hit or miss mine did good for so long but he ate a goby one time and a lil wrasse lol i think it was cuz he was hungry since then i feed him alot more and he doesnt bother anything but i dont have any shrimp cuz he would eat those

I only thing i worry about with him is that another fish might get stuck by his spines, because no one knows hes there so they swim into him and don't even care. hes still small though every thing is about the same size as him, but he loves live shrimp so that will be a problem when he gets bigger

i feed mine freeze dried krill... will they kill fish??? my clown takes food away from him all the time and he has only gotten mad once and chased the clown for a little while but other than that he never bothers anything...

You know, I've wondered about reef safe in general. What exactly is meant by "reef"? It seems like that phrase is used for any tank with inverts. I'm not sure specifically about fuzzies but lions do like shrimps, maybe that's why they say not reef safe.
