Here's my mated pair!!
The second pic, clowns are guarding their eggs... The anemone covers the eggs when it is opened up.

I've had the LTA and the larger clown for about 16 months and the smaller clown about 9 months. The clowns have been together since March 2005. The smaller clown was in my tank at work. When I quit my job I brought the tank home and put the clowns together and they took to each other instantly!! Actually the clown's aren't very small, the anemone is HUGH!! This is the third time since October 1, '05 they have laid eggs. If they had laid eggs before... I didn't know it.

I'm guessing the larger (female) is about 3 inches and the male is close to 2 1/2 inches. The babies become food for the reef. From what I have read about rearing clown fishes, it is difficult and takes alot of devotion. It is impossible for the babies to survive in the tank.

When the eggs are first laid, they are an orangeish color. The eggs are now 7 days old and are a darker color. The eggs are on the rock behind the fin of the small clown. The eggs should be hatching Wednesday or Thursday. Here is a picture of the eggs that were laid on 11/8. Opps... thought I had the picture... hang on and I will find it... Sorry.

Clown123, I have never seen the eggs hatch. Though, one night I was walking by my tank and saw a zillion little things swimming around. Since the lights were out I couldn't tell what they were. Perhaps little clowns?? I should have turned the lights on. I will try to get some pictures. Mine had been together for just about seven months until the first time I noticed eggs.... How long have yours been together??
