:jumping: Let me see your sump refrigum setup. I do not fully get how all the plumbing connects. There just seems like a lot going on down there.
Here is what I have to hook up.
overflow into sump/refrigum
U.V Sterilizer - Needs pump? its a Coralife Turbo Twist U.V Sterilizer 6x-18watt
Pro Clear Protein skimmer - has its own pump
Heater
return pump
O'yea there is some cheato in there somewhere.
I think that the UV needs a slower flow than the return pump will provide so it will probably need its own pump. This all sounds like a lot of in and out of the sump. Where does it all go?
All of this should fit in the 20 Long (30 1/4 x12 1/2 x12 3/4) that I will turn into a sump/refrigum. This will be for my new 90 gallon that I am buying tomorrow. I already have the stand. Wow I cant beleive its time already. How I ever convinced the wife on this one I'll never know. But don't ask too many questions...when she says yes - just do it.

Not much to show-off, but this is my set-up. I have a Maxi-jet 1200 in the sump supplying the UV into the fuge and gravity fed back to the sump. You can slow the flow to the UV to get a longer kill ratio.

just built a custom sump/refugium cuz my stand was too narrow for a standard one....here you go.
the fuge now has a 6" DSB and cheato

Not sure if you are still checking this thread Ninja, but here is mine. Ive posted it before too.
Its a custom 20 gal long, under my 65 gal DT. I dont use the filter in the baffles on the right anymore, but I still use the nylon filter sock from the overflow. Also, the red slime is gone.
You'll have more room under your 48" tank so maybe you could just have the pump for the UV somewhere outside the tank.
Good luck with the 90, let us know how it goes.
