Lettuce Nudibranch Poison.

OK, now I am paranoid after reading a post where someone’s nudibranch died, released all of its poison and killed a tank. Are all NBs poison or just some? I have a small 1” NB and if there is the possibility of it getting sucked into a filter and killing everything in the tank, its time for us to part. Anyone, Bueler, Bueler??

Lettuce Nudi Branchs are different from the regular Nudi Branchs and from my understanding dont release toxins if they die. I've had many many many in my tank at one time (babys from h***) lots of different sizes and no harm was ever done. Other type Nudi's do release toxins, but which ones release how much or dangerous is unknown to me.....But I've read somewhere the more colorful ones do more damage. The colors are a sign for other fish to stay away. Sorta like other animals....brightly colored snakes (coral snake) etc....

Its been noted that more vibrant the color the more toxic. One of the major issues with them is their diet for the most part is a mystery, and some even prey on sps and anemones. Of course they are rare types, but lettuce nudi's from what I have read are pretty harmless. Personally I stay away from them all.

lettuce nudi r not poisonous. if one dies, u simply do a water change. in a big enough tank with enough live rocks, it wouldnt be a problem. they r not good anyway, bc they only hv a life span of about 1-2 years.

as said above, they arent even a true nudibranch. I have 2 of them currently. I had one die of old age after owning him over a year.
They eat algae although, I cant say that Ive noticed any real changes in my tank lol. I just think they are cool.
heres a recent pic of my fav one.

Shrimpi is there any kind of algae I can just buy from the store to feed him? Like Caulerpa or something else. I want one but I really don't have any briopsis which is what most people seem to get them for. Thanks
