lettuce seaslug longevity?

They do not last long. You have them one day then in a couple they seem to disappear. Nudi do not do good in the home aquarium, IMO.

I think he was asking about sea slugs not nudi's. Isn't it a fact that they mainly die due to starvation?

Yeah SWfish lists them under nudibranchs but they really are in the sea slug family (not much of a difference). The main reason they don't live long is because they always seem to find a way into powerheads. I have heard somewhere that if they eat enough algae, they will start using photosynthesis and gain around half of their nutrients from that. Also I think they're favorite food is bryopsis (sp). If you tried covering your powerheads with sponges or something give them a go, it's not like they're very expensive or anything.

Thanks guys!
I know the biggest difference between a sea slug and a nudibranch is their diets. Nudi's seem impossible to keep because of their brutal diet(flatworms, corals etc.). This BTW sucks because Nudi's are easily one of the most spectacular things to look at. Why God why!

I've had mine since Oct. this year....wonder if that's a long time - relatively speaking.
It has changed from pale green (lettuce like) to a muted green on his frills and the body is a darker color now - some ashy purplish color. It's really wierd
