I transfered everything from my 37g into a 20 long earlier this week and checked all the levels just now. The tank hasn't started a new cycle so that's a good sign. I used everything from my 37g and just added some new live sand, everything else was from an established tank. But my pH is around 7.8 and my nitrates are around 40. How can I fix both of these? I have a Prizm skimmer on the back along with a Millenium 1000, maybe about 20 pounds live rock, around 15 pounds live sand, 2 skunk clowns, 2 skunk cleaner shrimp, around 10 hermits, 5 snails, 1 conch, 1 toadstool, and 3 ricordea mushrooms. I don't think the tank is overloaded with things so I'm not sure how to lower the nitrates and not sure what is the best way to raise the pH.
