LFS conflict

Here where I live there re 2 main saltwater stores.
The one I usually go to and measure my water ( free of charge) weekly says my nitrates are hovering between 20-40.
The other one I don't go to as often, but they still know me. They say my nitrates are below 10.
I have CC as substrate ( I know, I know), and eveything is my tank seems to have flourished so far, even coral when I only have 17W of light on top - I did put a 100W lizard bulb on the side poiting at the corals until the 192W gets here.
Has anyone ever done this?
And why am I getting a contradicting water test from the 2 fish stores?
Thanks again!

cheaper or expired test kits will most likely not be as accurate. this is probably what is going on

One of them uses test strips.
The other uss the lab test tubes, not sure of the brand, though.
I don't often test at home, and my tests are expired, so I don't trust them.
Thanks,
Felipe

First thing is get your own test kits and good ones (salifert). I can't believe a LFS would strips! :scared:
I would trust my own results (if I had good kits) over a LFS. I mean its good to have a comparison but everybody makes mistakes.
