Hi Everyone
Does anyone know of a good local fish store on Long Island. I want to start populating my tank but I want to make sure the fish are from a good store.

Dont have any new ones to add, but I will say that Aqua Hut in Coram has the best prices that I've seen anywhere on the Island. I've also shopped County Critters and Mutts & Butts.

Got the 36" sunpod for $450. I asked him if he could come close to online pricing and he did. First he said $495 so not a bad deal.

are you planning on running a chiller?
i think im gunna go for the outer orbit, its 1x175 mh, and 2x96 pc, but its on a 30 gallon tank, so i think it might be to much.

No need for a chiller right now. My temp stays between 79-81. Ill see how it is when the weather gets warmer though. You should be good with that setup as long as u dont have a center brace.

to all member when you buy fish from PetsWarehous on Sunrise Highway be careful they keep the fish at 1.012 sg and if you put the fish in a QT (i don't want to say main tank) you need to match the SG in your QT or your new arrival will be stress and if it's tang's so the fish can get in worse from the stress and velvet to.
anyway it is very important when you bring home new fish to check first the SG in the water bag before you put the fish in your QT in big different of salinty it will be very hard to acclimate the new arrival the best way to do it if you put the fish in QT is to change water in the QT and match the SG to the water in the bag.

nope, i had the center brace issue with the 55 gallon i was going to set up, but i decided to go with the 30 gallon instead becasue i will need less sand, less live rock, and a smaller chiller/lights. im also going to have a 10 or 20 gallon fuge, so ill have a bit more room for error.
