Twin cities area. World of fish is alittle pricey but really good customer service. Something fishy I would never buy any equipment from there. Bought a skimmer from them was leaking water after a month they would not take it back even for store credit. Will never buy anything from there but live stock. Look in the phone book I know there are some more out in the area.
Hope this helps.

Thoses two stores are OK. You will get much better prices on livestock and equipment on the web. For advice, it really varies on who is working when you are there. Some know stuff, some just think they do. I would take LFS employee advice with a grain of salt. I much prefer coming to this board or Reef Central for advice and learning. Reef Central has a page for Minnesota Marine Aquarists, also try www.tsmas.org (the twin cities marine aquarium society) and www.thereeftank.com for MN references.
Stick around cyberspace and listen, learn and ask. You will come out ahead of most. For specific questions and ideas, try the forum search page, you will get most answers to you questions almost immediately that way - no waiting!
Good Luck,
-Christine

Oh yeah, there is a LFS in Hopkins near 169 on Excelsoir Blvd. I cant think of the name right now. I haven't been there recently, but I know they have some marine stuff.

k thanx for the help there, would a fluval 304 canaster be fine for a 46 gallon bow front? and i want to eventually go to a sump but the base for my tank is not big enough for anything so i would have to have a custom sump or buy a new stand that is bigger. what do u guys/girls recommend. what other things would u recommend like sump for a 46 bow, and powerheads or whatever they are called, and a skimmer? i am new to all of this got a book and am reading it but i need to get stuff too

I would highly recommend the fish store located in Forest Lake. There's only one there and I forgot the name of it. It is by the far the largest fish store that I have ever been to and their fish are in excellent condition. Also their prices are very good!
