Geez, old thread but still a good point. I trust my local fish store. Large staff, immense inventory and every single tank and fish is absolutely pristine. The staff are all trained by the owner who is immensely knowledgable. The store is MAC certified too. I trust them to tell me what to put in the tank. I don't think they would ever say 30 fish in 77 gallons though.... even if they were damsels...
