LFS Water

Was in a shop Today that I visit now and then and it had a chart above tanks stating:
SG
pH
of each stock tank.
Not a bad idea I thought until I looked at the bottom line of the chart.
Last tested Oct 2002.

LOL :D
Next time ask them "when they get around to it" to add other informative info, like ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and phosphate. Sometimes quite shocking!

Another thing to keep in mind is alomst all LFSs use de-chlorinated tap water in their tanks, that's why your not suppose to put it in your tank. And quite often their for sale RO water(they don't even use themselves) isn't a lot better.

I would never use water of any kind from a lfs. Reason being you don't know for sure what your getting.

yeah, seeing that only the most elite LFS in Atlanta have fish that aren't covered in ich and eye flu. Every tank in my LFS here in Athens has SOMETHING wrong with it. I asked him; how's the quality of your water here? He says "It's top notch" - I guess top notch means fish laying around the bottom of the tank scratching on rocks and wasting away slowly. I asked him "how do you treat your systems?" He says "Oh we experiment, a lot of the guys around here don't really know what they are doing, sooooo" And I said..........rrriigghhtt...:D
