So I wanted a decond independant test on my water so I went to LFS today so they could do it. All and all the water was perfect but he asked me what i had for Turnover. I told him and said that I needed to attach the air tubing to my MJ900!!!! I was shocked!!! I honeslty thought that air bubbles blowing into the water were bad!! Am I WRONG. Besides causing unwanted salt-creep the NITROGEN in the air mixes and causes the formation of Nitric Acid therefore depressing pH. Great for a freshwater tank not for saltwater.

From what I understand... Thats correct.
Bubbles in the tank are potentialy bad since this can produce "Bubbles" or 'Foam" (like a protine skimmer) on the surface of the water. This foam can buildup (like in a protine skimmer) and since there is nowhere for it to go, just keep building up. Since the foam is keeping the nastyness above the water, none of the filters can pull it up and filter it.
Bubbles / foam in your protine skimmer = good.
Foam / bubbles in your tank = potential disaster.
(someone correct me)

Well the foam on top would find its way to the overflow and go down to the sump with the skimmer.... but i see where you are coming from.

I think you are right. I have finally found a great lfs and they appear to know what they are doing. I asked them the same question and he pointed to his many, many tanks and said "see, no bubbles". He then elaborated and said that they are not good for the water and I shouldn't have them.
