life span for lion fish

Talk about a bad morning.I found my lion fish dead this morning.I have had him for about 4 years with no problems.All other fish are fine and no major change in my perimeters..Just like to know what is the averege life span for a fish like this.

I have seen articles that state 10 - 12 years or 15 years and longer, from my understanding of this fish, in our tanks the average life expectancy is 5 - 7 years.
What did your lions diet consist of, including vitamins?
What size tank?
What do you keep your SG at?
How often did you feed your lion?
