Lifereef O/F question

I have a 30 gallon tank which I would like to add a sump. I have a lifereef overflow which is rated at 700 gph. (The CPR O/Fs seem to problematic) If I only run 300-350 gph through it will I have noise or air bubble problems? I am going to use a mag5 for a return pump. Not sure that I want to increase the gph on such a small tank. Thanks everyone!

Noise is always a threat when using a sump. Some disagree but you can put your return line below the water line in your sump. Rendos does this and his tank is very quiet.

I ran a Mag 7 on my tank for a while with this overflow without any problems. If the flow is too slow, bubbles will build up in the tube and break the siphon, but I never had that problem. You might be pushing it a little with the Mag 5, but I don't think it will be a problem. There is waterfall noise, but I don't consider it bad at all. I just hate all that equipment in my tank, so adding my sump was the best thing I ever did to it!
