Lighing HELP!!!

I have a 125 FO with 2 36" Coralife lights..Dont know what they are just there is a white bulb and a bluish bulb. How often do I need to change the bulbs and is this the best lighting i can use for this setup. Also how often should I change my UV bulb? One last thing I am getting what looks like brown algea and cant seem to get rid of it. I use RO for water changes and have cut back the amount of time the lights are on to just 6 hours. Any suggestions?

is the tank newly set up? if so, it's brown diatoms. everyone gets them and they will go away as fast as they came. you are doing right by using ro water but you really don't need the lights on at all if it's just fish only. btw- i'd change the bulbs about once a year.

The tank has been set up for about a year now. I will change the lights as I am at that mark. I just cant get rid of this brown algea. I will attach a picture tomorrow.
