Light Brackets for an enclosed top

Okay, I have been looking on the net and cannot find what I am looking for. I just got my 72" PC and the mounting brackets that come with it will not work with my top. I have an all glass top that only has small openings for my filters and heaters and such. I have a eel so I dont want him escaping. I am trying to find some type of bracket that will work with out having to cut on the glass. Any ideas???

Hopefully that will give you an idea. If not I can try again. Thanks

When I had PC lights and used a glass top...I just rested the light right on the tank like you show in your picture. 3 years with no troubles except salt creep got on the glass which obscured the lights, and I had to use hot water to remove the plastic shield when I cleaned or maintained the lights. Salt creep was everywhere back then. I hate glass tos.
You can try hanging the lights so they float above the tank, and not touch it. I have a fellow coming to my house this weekend to hang my MHs and create a pulley system so I won’t have to do anything but move them up and out of my way when I do my water changes. Maybe you can do something like that.

okay, that gives me some ideas. The problem with them being right on top like they are is the tank seems to heat up. I have noticed my temp has gone up about 3-4 degrees.

The glass top is responsible more than PC lights. Think green house effect. The glass concentrates the light and heats things up.

Okay, any other ideas other than glass tops? I guess I didn't think about that since the lights that came with the tank didn't affect the temp. Remember I have an eel to keep contained.... Thanks

I apologize for the atrocious pic, only one I have on my PC, without waking everyone up to get the camera. But I used egg crate (lighting diffuser) on my 65 QT.
