PCs or VHOs?
I want to keep shrooms and zoos for now, maybe clams later.
It's for a 55G, so i've been told about 220W but 440W preferred.
Is that good???
Oh yah, got some small polyps on the LR

shrooms and zoos either will work, I prefer VHO.
Go with the 440 watt VHO if you can. But 380 would work real nice as well.
Clams later you will want a MH/VHO combo.

NO = normal output
HO = High output
VHO = Very High Output
PC = Power Compact
MH = Metal Halides
If you go with the VHO you will also need a special ballast, I recommend an electronic ballast to power the bulbs. Look up what an Ice cap ballist is and you'll get the idea.

I saw the Ice Caps and i think i'm gonna go with PCs. I'm gonna do MH for later on a bigger tank. Would any kind of ballast would do for PCs or do they have to be electronic, could they be magnetic or pulse start?
