I'm going to be replacing my PC's on my 29Reef. I know I want to go with the Hamiltion Atenic 03's for the blues...what should I get for a white bulb to really make the fish a corals look bright and awesome? Thanks.
-I would like the whites to also be a hamiltion bulb

I would personally use URI bulbs, they are the best and have internal reflectors.
as far as the white bulb, it's actually the actinic that gives you the flourescence. Choose your white bulb based on your preference of color. most ppl go with 50/50 but there are some that prefer the true daylight aquasuns.

wooo couple days to late I couldn't wait.
I ordered
Hamilton 03 Actinic Blue
Hamilton 10,000K Ice White
I hope they achive what I'm looking for. Thanks for the input though it could help me down the road when I buy bulbs for the new tank.

in a future upgrade, you might want to add 2 more bulbs to your hood, and add in a 7100k blue bulb, and another 10000k bulb. this will give you a lot of bright light, and will also give you a bit more blue to the light. the 7100 won't flouresce your corals, but it will enrich the colors of a lot of your corals.

krux: thanks for you advice...because it my 29 and I'm going to take on a new project soon (65G Reef) maybe you can help me with a choice for those lights also. I was going to go with a Hamilton retrofit kit....I don't know why I like hamiltion so much I just do. I was going to go with one 400W MH and two 96W PC's for the blue lights. What bulbs would you choose? Thanks.

over my 75 (36LX24WX20H) I am going to be running 2X 250 watt hqi XM 10k bulbs on icecap ballasts and in reefoptix pendants. to supplement that i have 3X 24" t5 actinics and 1X 24" 7100k blue t5. would have gone for 36" bulbs, but they are hard to fit in the canopy and in twisting them to get them to fit, they are easy to break.
what will you bee keeping in your 65? it is hard to go wrong with a 400 watt halide, as for the supplementation, it really depends on the color temperature of the halide, and what you are keeping as to what kind of actinic and other light you will want to consider to balance it out.

The 65G I'm buying is
24Tall/36Long/18Wide (or close to this.)
I wanted to use the Halide obviously for my daylight but wanted to use the 2 96W Pc's for the blues. Or maybe one for a true atenic and the other somthing else. What would you think is best....really I don't think its going to be a problem with keeping the corals but I do what them to look really hot under both the blues and also witht he daylights.
I want to keep mostly all SPS but also a carpet anenomie and some LPS corals.
