Ok, here's another one, if anyone can help me - I just received my new Oddysea compact. flor. lighting, was 65w X 2, got it on Tues, plugged it in worked great! Loved it!!
Come home today & noticed there was a few power surges, as all my clocks were blinking and my light was off.... Now the light will not even turn on!! :scared: I tried diff. outlet, checked connections, bulbs were brand new... Anyone know what happened? Thanks!!

If you had a big power surge it can blow you ballast, lesser quallity lighting are prone to this. You need a surge protecter (good one not a $9.99 one) & may have to replace you ballasts, bulbs should be ok. Without testing its just a guess but it happens.

Wow, thanks...I guess! I had the light plugged into a power strip with a surge protector, I think! It was one of the most expensive strips there was.. Light on the strip showed green for protected when I got home, sounds like it fried anyway, I didn't smell anything though.. Oh, this is aggravating, I just got the thing!

Surge protector should have tripped stopping the surge to the lights, maybe enough got through to the light anyway. You should return it or at least try, just tell em it quit & you dont know what happend

Will do, I sent the seller an email yesterday night, hopefully they will be cooperative & send me a replacement...the way my luck is going, I'm not too hopeful! Thanks for your help! Maybe I will just go with VHO & better quality lighting - do you know what the minimum watts I would need, I am going FO with maybe a few anenomes, easy corals? Thanks!

hello, did your light unit come with fans. If so they should still come on even if the light ballast went. Did u try a plug that u knew worked. Most surge protectors have a resent button, did this work. I would even try plugging something in the protector that u know works. This would help cross off what is wrong with your lights. hope it helps.
