Light for 100 gal

I have a 100 gal tank 5' long and I want to have a reef. I want to keep some of all coral. What light would I need to get? Thanks

Well, for the amount of watts, I would do 500-550 watts (5-6 watts per gallon)

I have the same tank and I am doing 60 inch T5 HO retrofit kit , I am gonna run 4 bulbs with individual refelctors, you might want to do 6 bulbs depending on what you want to keep

arent 5ft 100 gallons generally 26-30" tall? I would go with either two 250w halides with GOOD white bulbs like XM 10ks (and flourescent supplementation for color) or two 400w halides. look into lumenarc, lumen max or luman bright reflectors, your going to need good ones to stretch the spread out 2.5ft per bulb (I did 2 halides on a 6ft tank but I had the two mountains on the side aquascaping with the less demanding stuff in the center).

My 105 is 60x18x22 tall. A couple of 250 halides or any good T5 fixture or retrofit will work.
