Ok, I'm in need of help, I'm starting a 58 gallon reef tank and I just ordered more light for my system. I have a PC with a 96W dual daylight and a 96W dual Ac. i also orded a 250W metal halide. The Metal halide is where I have the problem, The company I ordered from is out of the 250 ballast so they said they would upgrade me to a 400W system for the same price with a 14K bulb. I will run these lights under a home built canopy. Are the 400W going to be too much? I want to keep soft corals, some hard and maybe a clam later, but I think the 400W will burn some corals, and I also live in South Texas were the summer is 100 Degrees every day, and i don't want to get into buying a chiller. Please and comments would help out lots.
Additional info, my tank is 3 feet long.
