OK...I think I am looking for a new light for the 54G.....at the moment I have a 24" satellite dual and I am running a dual 10k bulb, and a dual 420/460 bulb. I have been very happy with this light, but of course since it is a CF..I am limited to what I can add. I am thinking of getting a T5 set up.....and I am thinking I can go 30" too....I just tried my Sundial on it....and since the feet are adjustable....it will work
I am very happy with my Sundial, BUT would like to hear other opinions on other T5 set ups
OH....AN LED moonlight is really important to me as are separate timers for all lights....
thanks for your suggestions

p.s......in the tank now I have mushrooms, ricordea, miscellaneous zoas......I would like to be able to add a variety of stuff.....nothing in particular yet.....lol

what is your budget? i say the best thing to do would be to do a t5 retrofit. at the largest part of your tank run 2-4 39w t5's and then run 4 24" t5's on the smaller parts to get good coverage. all small t5's would be ati blue+ with your inner ones have 1 fiji purple, 1 kz superblue, 1 aquablue special, 1 ati blue+

metal halide?????? I do not think there is enough room for 2 lights.....I just wanted something simple....LOL....Imagine that
Is 30" an odd size for lighting
there are lots of 24"...then 36".....and very few 30....siggghhhh

I don't want a pendant though :( I'm really not in a rush, so I think I'll just look around....I want something that will sit on top like I have already, just stronger.....

Hi meowzer, I have a recommendation for you.
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=http%3A%2F%2Fww...ht_Fixtures%2F
its the first link. I really like this place cause they have great customer service and let you choose all of your own bulbs to get the exact look you want. with that said here is a link spanko gave me on a VERY detailed T5 thread over at NR that shows a bunch of bulb combos...its the first link...look at the first few pages as well as pages 64,65, and 66. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=http%3A%2F%2Fww...topic%3D178954
based on what corals you have in your tank now this light fixture will be more than enough...plus its under $300...or about that once shipping is included.

i've been good...very busy so i haven't been on SWF in quite awhile. You have a corner tank right? I think your best option would be to retrofit then cause of the tanks shape...like what Nike said about the two different retros. I know you don't want to any of that DIY junk though lol. I looked up 54g corner tanks with mixed reefs that use T5...there aren't a whole lot of people who do due to the odd shape. Most use MH w/ T5 supplementation. You could always get a MH and T5 combo fixure...most come with moonlights...but i know that you prefer all T5 haha.

you can do something to make it sit on top. the tek fixtures are great. there is a new t5 fixture that has 6 bulbs but no fans i think. im still awaiting confirmation

MH W/T5 would be okay, but I do want moonlights too......I have some corals in there, but obviously not ones that need HIGH lighting
I think I'll just try to be satisfied (HAHA) with what I have for once

I actually have a separate moonlight already....I love it too...The Satellite Dual only came with that teeny white lunar....I bought an aqualight single light (can't find them anymore)...it's a 1watt blue led....with the right setup it can even mount on the side tracking of a light...but I just have it sitting on top with the suction cups
this is itAttachment 244001
