Light Timer...

I'm leaving tomorrow afternoon for the holidays, so I am leaving it up to the machines to take care of my precious fish and corals for the week. I have a Current USA 150w HQI Sunpod lighting my 30 gallon. I'm going to take my 3 gallon pico upstairs for my buddy to look after during the day, since it needs to be topped off daily and checked on more frequently (plus, you can't go wrong with its portability
).
Anywho, I am wondering, as for a timer to turn the sunpod on and off every day, do I need to go to my LFS and buy some sort of specialty timer, or can I just pick up a typical timer from Home Depot?
Thanks! and sorry for the stupid question (I tend to have a knack for them
).

I use the little dial timers you can pick up at the local hardware store for $10-15, you put the pins in and set how long you want your light cycle on...much easier then doing it manually. I have a couple of extras here, would have given you one if I knew you needed it.

just make sure they have the dround plug on them and can except the ground plug, if you have your stuff grounded. HD lowes everyone has them.

Alright, cool. Thanks for the help. And Jmick, haha I think I stole enough stuff off of you the other day.. I got this one

By the way, all the purchases made the trip (excepting one unidentified zoo frag). I'll post some pics up sometime soon and if you see anything you like, let me know and I'll hook you up with some free frags.

I use a pair of electronic timers from chinamart. They can be set for 7 different days' time schedule, since I am home on the weekend most of the day, my tank lighting begins earlier on those days.

Chinamart LOL. I've got 2 digital timers left after 3 pooped out. I'm going to replace them when I get my Xmas box out of storage for the pin style which are much more reliable IMO.
