light upgrade?

So as some of you know i have oddysea bulbs and fixture and im looking to upgrade soon. So my question is wat bulbs to get? I know im gonna go either ati or giessmans(?). Also i see these retrofit kits....mainly i just want the reflector, is this an easy upgrade or do i have to rip it all apart? I dont know that much about electricity other than car stereo stuff! lol my tank is 20" tall and 30" long and bowfront so the width varys. My current fixture is 24Wx4 and is 24". I think i covered it but idk.

In my T5 light on the 29G I have
2 ATI Blue Plus
1 ATI Aqua Blue Special
1 Aqua Science Special 15000K (BUT I THINK Nike told me that they are not making these anymore)

So is this a really blue effect?? My current lighting seems so white. Yellow looking on the sand when i turn the one ballast off 30 min before moonlight time! I have two ballast and one runs the two front lights and the other runs the back two.

MINE??? NO, I would not say blue...BUT NO YELLOW I hate yellow....
Have you ever seen pics of my 29G? If not, I'll take one tomorrow.....I just changed the bulbs too

sweet....plz do! u can post em here if u want i dont care, there ATIs arent they? I hope others chime in as i dont know much about the light side of SW...Its like ati and geisman dont even make kelvin rated bulbs! Theyre all color rated and %(#&! Makes a man confused as to wat to do lol!

Where is everyone??? Nike i need u and ur no where to be found lol, wheres the pic u were gonna put up meowzer? I think im just gonna go with the 2 blue+, 1aquablue special, and the 1 purple+. I would just hate to order $100 in bulbs and it look like poop!!!!

save yourself some money and order an extra bulb(s) to get the combo you like. personally, i like the look of more blue in my tank.
order 3 blue+, 1 aquablue special (MAKE SURE ITS THE NEW VERSION), and 1 Purple+.
i like the look of 3 blue+ and 1 purple+. it really makes stuff pop and should provide most of the spectrum including the 420nm peak which is added by the purple+. if its too blue for you, then swap out a blue+ for the aquablue special. while many people like the combination, its not for me. i feel that the purple+ and aquablue special really overpower the blue+ bulbs.
as for your retrofit question, using the same housing from your odyssea fixture probably wont be a good idea.the reflectors from retrofits havent different widths and would probably not fit the housing correctly. if you're looking for a quality retrofit kit, look into LET reflectors. they're really close to ATI reflectors. for you, i think it might be best to order a TEK fixture.

lol so save up some money and get a tek kit fixture....i do like em. The one with the timer and digital display built in. Problem is this will cost me $$$ cuz i dont think they come with the bulbs either. However your prob right! THXS, o i guess i could order the bulbs now and save $ than get the fixture... the teks have individual reflectors and moonlights i thinks ???
good tip on ordering the extra bulb...the things u learn from experience i guess

i dont know about moonlights, but yes the TEKS have indiviual reflectors. i think theyre 2" wide and give a wider spread.
