Lighting Canopy Size Q??

I am looking into making a canopy for my tank but it must be suspended. I want to put 4x110VHO and 2x250W MH. Anyone know how wide this would have to be with everything? I want to put the VHO in first and when I'm ready for corals in about a year, add the MH. I just don't want to redo the canopy when I add the MH so I want to make enough room in the canopy off the bat. Any help would be appreciated.

Id suggest making it the same size as the top of your tank. That way you get all the light concentrated into the tank. And you can still suspend it from the ceiling if you want via some chain and chain hooks bolted into the ceiling ( a stud )

you can use the same canopy but be aware that the MH will need to be at least 8-12" off the water, otherwise they will heat the tank up. I just retro fitted my canopy by adding an 8" rim around the bottom to raise it alittle.
