lighting for 29 gal

Ihave a 29 gal cube, about 22" deep. I am considering getting a Coralife Aqualight w/96w 50/50 quad. Would this be adequate? At first I'm only having fish and LR but want to add anemones in the future.

If you want Anemones at some point it would save you a lot of money in the long run if you can do the lighting right from the beginning. The quad will be more than adequate for FOWLR but usless for anemones IMHO. If you could swing a 150 DE Halide you could keep anemones and even SPS if you should desire them.
If the tank is at least 24" long there are T5 fluorescents that are very good. If you plan on building a canopy so retrofits can be used you could start out with one or two lamps and just add more as you decide to add anemones.

The tank is only 20 inches long. I'm not handy enough to build anything- i would like to go with something I could buy and just stick on top. I definitely want something powerful enough for anemones, though, so I won't go with to PC's if they won't work. Any suggestions that would fit on a tank my size? I'm pretty clueless when it comes to lights...

Nice looking tank setup.
Go with a 150 watt HQI (double ended) metal halide pendant. You can find the pendant and ballast at many online stores and/or ----. Go with a 14,000K or a 20,000K bulb and that will be the only bulb you will need. The only assembly will be hanging it above the tank.....about 8-9" from the water surface.
Do that, and you will be set for whatever you want to put in there.
Personally, I think a nice RBTA would look great in there with a pair of cinnamon clowns to host in it......but that is just my opinion.

I'd go with one of those 250 watt hqi metal halide pendants by aqua medic with a 20k bulb there pretty cheap for what you get and it comes with everything hou need to fire it up. Go to www. hellolights .com

coralife makes an "aqualight pro" that is a mh light. also has a pc artinic with moonlight. that is 24 inches, and will set on the tank. cheaper then other mh setups but still around $450. just do a search on internet to find best price

Check out the pendant I mentioned it's not ugly at all and has a really sleek design that doesn't look like a hunk of metal.
