im looking at gettin a 125 acrylic locally used, it does not come with lights.
so im wondering, will i have to use a retro kit?
im waiting for the dimensions of it to figure out wattage.
id like to stick with t-5 lights.

what the purpose of having more rock and sand in the sump? isnt the rock/sand in the DT enough?

ICECAP makes a 60" T5 retrofit with anywhere from two to eight 80watt bulbs. They come with icecap ballasts which overdrive the bulbs to around 100 watts though, which will cut down on lamp life and give off more heat, so you could swap for a different ballast if you wanted to.
You don't need rock in the sump, but most people keep their macro algae in there so it doesn't take over the display, and toss whatever rock they have leftover in there as well.
