i've just got my 75 set up (well mostly anyways) and i'm thinking i'm going for a fish only tank cause i can't really afford a reef tank yet. i want to be able to grow that pink/purple coralline algae stuff everywhere and avoid the green hair algae. i have 4 x 65 cf bulbs (2 daylight 2 actinic). will those work for what i need? how long should i set the bulbs in a day? would it be better to have the actinic bulbs run longer? any info will be very helpful thank ya

You can run actinics for an hour or two before and after your daylights to better simulate dusk and dawn. I wouldn't go over 10 hrs max photo period.

good deal. do the little blue l.e.d. lights have any effect on the growth factor of algae or anything or is it ok to have those on for as long as you want?

They're more for aesthetics, so you could leave them on as long as you wanted.
