lighting for clams

I like to know if maxima clams really require MH lighting? Our can do fine under pc's like would a corallife 2x65 watt on a 29 gallon would be enouf light?

Maximas are normally kept under MH. There are some who keep them under PC's or VHO's but then they're within inches of the light source. In any event the lighting you describe is barely enough for a softies tank. Even to attempt a maxima under less than MH would require at least 290 watts on a standard 29 & then your chances of success would be next to nothing. There are also more issues to think about such as age of tank, etc.
Keep in mind I'm no expert, this is just my opinion.

Is there any kind of coral could i keep in the 29 gallon with the light that i have the tank is 14 months old the light is new its a 130 watts total so i thought at lest some type of coral could do fine are should i upgrade to a stronger light

You can keep most soft corals, 'shrooms, green stars, etc. Kepp 'em kinda high on the rocks. There are a lot of great looking softie reefs. I had mixed results on my 29 (with 2X65 PC) until I added another 100 watts or so of PC. Everything did OK with 130w but they're doing much better now with 241w PC.
