i have 4 - 100 watt VHO light on my 125g and my coral just isnt doing so well. all of them are sitting on my crush coral. i have had all of them in a smaller tank and they were doing. but now it seems like they are dont want to come out all the time and their groth has stopped. do i need to add more light. oh and the bulbs are 2 white atinic and 2 blue atinic. any advice is appreciated. i also heard that you need 3 -4 watts per gallon of water. thats just what my lf store said.
thanks

we are going to need a little bit more information. What kind of corals do you have? what are your water perameters. Watts per gallon does not work. (ex. I upgraded from 190 watts PC to 150 watts HQI MH) That would not make sence if you went by the watts per gallon rule.

You have plenty enough light but if you've got sps's on the bottom of a 125 with only 4 vho's thats your problem. We need to know what corals and your water conditions....

ok this is what i got green star polyps, some kind of pink cup coral, some sponge that came on my LR maybe ball sponge, a recordea, and some brain coral. the brain coral just said "brain coral" when i bought it. but it is kind of concaved and is hard to the touch. if anyone could tell me the name that would be great. oh and i also have some mushrooms that arent looking so hot. i have all of them in the correct water flow. i am not to good on the abreviation thing yet so i hope i got all the info. that you need.
thanks

Ok. You have plenty enough light for those corals. Need to know your water parameters. ALK, Calcium, ammonia, ph, salinity, nitrites, nitrates and such. If they do check out when di dyou get these corals? My experience is when you just buy them it takes a couple days for them to adjust to their surroundings nd they won't open up quite as much as we expect.
