I would like to be able to keep some of the easier types of corals in my 30 gallon tank. I believe those would be leathers, mushroom, and polyps.
I do not want to go to the expense of Halide.
I am thinking about T5 bulbs and my questions are:
1) Do I need just one bulb of 10,000k
2) or, one Actinic bulb
3) or, one of each in a double bulb arrangement
I have seen the retro kits which are still out of my price range. Is there some other way I can do this cheaply? (I just spent over $200 on Live Rock)

I would look into Orbit Power compacts. You can get them for a 30 inch tank for around $150 I think. That is what I have on my tank. I have mushrooms, zoanthids, torch coral, kenya tree, xenia and other goodies. Check it out!!
